About me
I'm a Counselling Psychologist based in Fitzrovia, central London, working with individuals navigating burnout, workplace stress, anxiety, and the relational patterns that often sit underneath them.
I trained as a psychologist after university, and spent around ten years working in that field before a move to London led me into organisations.
Working in people leadership within a fast-growing tech scale-up, designing leadership programmes and supporting the mental health of employees across the business. That time gave me a close-up view of how much pressure people carry in professional life, and how rarely that pressure is met with the right kind of support.
Why I Do This Work
Working in-house, I met so many capable, high-achieving people who were quietly struggling. I have experienced how capable people can turn from suffering to thriving with the right support systems in place.
Burnout is rarely just about the environment someone is in, it's usually shaped by that environment alongside how an individual responds to it: the expectations they hold of themselves, the way they cope under pressure, and patterns that may go back further than the job itself. Too often, though, it gets treated as a simple personal failing, when really it's something more layered that deserves to be properly understood.
That experience is what led me back to psychology in a more direct way, to work with people one-to-one, rather than through organisational systems, helping individuals make sense of what they're going through and build something more sustainable, rather than simply managing symptoms until the next wave hits.
I also continue to work with organisations directly, offering burnout education for teams and leaders. Please get in touch if you want to know more.
How I Work
I draw on both CBT and schema therapy, and I choose between them, or blend them, depending on what will actually help you. CBT tends to work well for more immediate, present-day difficulties: patterns of thinking and behaviour that are getting in your way right now. Schema therapy goes further back, helping to understand longer-standing patterns that often trace to earlier experiences and keep resurfacing in adult life, particularly in relationships and at work.
In practice, this means our work together is never one-size-fits-all. I'll always be honest with you about what I think is going on and what I'd recommend, but the plan is shaped around you, not a fixed programme.
You can expect me to be warm, but direct. I won't dodge the harder conversations, and I'll always aim to be clear about where we are and where we're heading.
